Serbian Folk Dance Ensemble
In 2000, a group of folk enthusiasts from the Boston area started exploring the rich heritage of folk dancing and music from different parts of the former Yugoslavia. The ensemble is led by Djordje Koldzic, a former soloist and assistant-choreographer with the National Folk Ballet of Yugoslavia "Branko Krsmanovich".
Grachanitsa dancers are folk dance enthusiasts from around the world, hailing members from the Balkan region, the United States, Canada, and all over Europe. Today, Grachanitsa has become known throughout the Northeast for its original choreographies, elaborate costumes, perfected style and attention to detail. We are thrilled to host the 2010 Anniversary Concert and Gala to benefit Grachanitsa Folklore Ensemble this Fall. We would like to invite you to participate as a sponsor of this event. We hope that you will join us on November 6, 2010 and consider a gift to support Grachanitsa. We are committed to raising significant funds to benefit the Grachanitsa’s programs, to enlisting new supporters and to hosting an event that captures the essence of “Serb-dom” and the fun for which we are known.
The work of Grachanitsa is more urgent than ever before! Our existence enables us to spread our culture and demonstrate our traditions and ethnicity. Our youth has to continue to pass down our customs and hold onto our heritage. In this day in age, in the USA, it is more important than ever we continue to thrive so our children can be brought up with these traditions. Grachanitsa provides Boston Serbian youths and families a place to gather, connect and celebrate our culture. Over the past ten years we have perform at over 60 events.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to support the adult and youth programs we offer and we are asking you to demonstrate your commitment to Grachanitsa by joining us at the event. Please click HERE for details regarding the event and sponsor levels.
Thank you for your consideration. We will look forward to celebrating with you in November!
